The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) embarks a 5- year partnership with Jobstreet.com through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III and Jobstreet.com Country Manager Philip A. Gioca.
“This partnership would definitely bolster and further the Department’s mandate to provide decent, productive, and sustainable employment for our Filipino workforce, and create more areas of collaboration,” expressed Bello.
“There is great potential in Jobstreet.com’s JobXpress, a mobile-first web platform, as it caters to jobseekers looking for employment opportunities, most especially technical-vocational jobs. Jobseekers with mobile data can now go job hunting quickly and easily just by a few taps on their cellphones,” Labor Secretary added.
Held at the Office of the Secretary, DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila, the MOU signifies a strong and lasting partnership between the two parties, continuing from the previous years.
Through the MOU, Jobstreet.com will support the Department’s provision and dissemination of labor market information (LMI), e.g. DOLE-Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES), JobsFit LMI Report, and any joint special LMI study, and DOLE/Public Employment Service Office (PESO) job fairs through Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) blasting to their candidate/applicant database.
Moreover, Jobstreet.com will provide DOLE, via Jobstreet.com’s system, with timely and accurate LMI during the duration of the MOU.
“Employment encompasses an intricate relationship between the public and private sectors as it necessitates inclusive development, harmony between social partners and labor justice among workers and their families. Together, let us forge lasting partnerships through constant participation, engagement and cooperation,” Bello concluded. (ezg)
