Overseas Pinoys’ deaths near 500

Deaths among overseas Filipinos have hit 496 as of June 21out of the 6,141 who contracted COVID-19 while 2,862 have recovered and 2,783 are still undergoing treatment, according to Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) figures.

A recent DFA bulletin said there are 11 new recoveries and one new death in the Middle East.

The DFA has already repatriated home 51,113 overseas Filipinos since February 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. Most of the recent repatriates were from Japan, Norway, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE (United Arab Emirates), USA and Vietnam.
