STRONG CLAMOR FOR BAN ON SINGLE-USE PLASTICS. Deputy for Survey, Social Weather Stations (SWS) Vladymir Licudine discusses the percentage on the single-use plastics usually received or used in the Philippines from a September 15-23, 2018 National Survey, in his presentation during a press conference held at Max’s Restaurant, Quezon City Memorial Circle (QCMC), on Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2018). The survey revealed a strong clamor for regulating or banning single-use plastics and the proper and full implementation of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Law, that provides for solid waste reduction through proper waste segregation, recycling, composting, and other ecological methods before disposal in the appropriate facilities. (PNA photos by Ben Briones)
