STARBOOKS (Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Stations) is a digital library that provides access to thousands of Science and Technology (S&T) resources in text, video, and audio formats. It is developed and promoted by the Science and Technology Information Institute of DOST (DOST-STII).
The beneficiaries include Paciano Rizal Elementary School, Lopez Elementary School, Los Baños National High School Poblacion, Mayondon Elementary School, College of Fisheries of the Laguna State Polytechnic University, and Bayog Elementary School.
DOST-CALABARZON will provide technical assistance and training to the beneficiaries regarding the operation of the STARBOOKS.
Units of STARBOOKS donated were generated through the PCAARRD-funded project of DOST-STII, titled, Developing the DOST-PCAARRD e-Library.
The turnover was conducted in line with SyenSaya’s goal of bringing science closer to the community of Los Baños and surrounding municipalities.
SyenSaya is a celebration initiated by the Los Baños Science Community Foundation Inc. (LBSCFI). It showcases Research and Development (R&D) outputs and breakthroughs as well as the importance of S&T through exhibits, techno-fora, and various activities. (PPCI)
