CBCP: ‘Undas’ website as channel for prayer requests

National, News

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) urges the public to send prayer requests for their departed loved ones via the “Undas” website in the light of the cemeteries’ closure on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day (November 1 and 2, respectively).

CBCP Media Office director, Msgr. Pedro Quitorio said the website features several interesting including online masses from different venues.

“One can even light a candle online while praying for their dear departed. It also offers audio and video reflection and catechesis on All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day, he added.

CBCP has revived the website so Filipinos can request prayers for their dearly departed. Now on its 9th year, it was originally intended for Filipino seafarers and other OFWs who had no way of celebrating Undas.

To mitigate Covid-19 infections, the government has ordered the closure of cemeteries nationwide from October 29 to November 4.
