BALER, Aurora – The municipal government of this provincial capital has procured a mobile clinic and two multi-purpose vehicles to enhance its delivery of health and other vital services to its constituents.
Baler Mayor Rhett Ronan T. Angara the vehicles fulfilled his earlier promise which materialized with the help of their Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Bobong Ong and the entire staff of the LGU-Baler. The mobile clinic will roam around the 13 barangays to provide free medical assistance to residents.
Angara said the mobile clinic will be detailed in the rural health unit office while the two multi-purpose vehicles will be at the Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The mobile clinic, worth some P7.5 million, has an X-ray machine and generator, medical X-ray processor, X-ray examination room, three channels of digital electronic cardiograph (ECG), full digital 3D-4D ultrasound, emergency lights, fire extinguisher, and air conditioning system.
The two multi-purpose vehicles cost P2.8 million. They were funded through last year’s Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) with counterpart from the Baler LGU which received a P2.3 million PCF award for fiscal year 2019.
PCF is a cash grant to LGUs that are awarded with the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), also known as “Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal.” It is awarded by the DILG every year to deserving provinces, cities and municipalities with impressive accomplishment in various fields.
