LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) in Bicol invites people to participate in its “Psychological First Aid (PFA) on Air,” a kive program on radio, TV and Facebook that will air for three months to strengthen mental resiliency amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
DOH-Bicol regional director, Dr. Ernie Vera, said in a statement the PFA on Air will tackle different topics on mental health and provide simple activities that will equip the listeners with life skills to help them manage and cope with stress.
“PFA on Air will have three seasons with five episodes each that will have thematic topics and activities every season. The public can also interact with the guests/hosts through queries via text messages which will be answered live during the show,” he said.
Vera acknowledged the Covid-19 crisis can be stressful and may cause strong emotions. “It may be stressful for some people and cause fear and anxiety to others. During times of increased social distancing, people can still maintain social connections and care for their mental health,” he, however, assured.
He said they hope that through the radio/TV/social media program, anyone who experiences stress can be reached and helped wherever they are.
PFA on Air is broadcast live every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon via DZGB, and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon via Radyo Veritas (Radio, TV, Facebook live). It is also shared on the official Facebook page of DOH CHD–Bicol on Tuesday and will end on January 14, 2021. (With PNA)
