Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) are required to secure Job Fair Authority before they can conduct online job fairs under Advisory No. 138 of the Philippine Overseas Employment Authority (POEA).
“Please be guided that conducting online job fair, the POEA Memorandum Circular No. 05, s. 2017, still applies,” the POEA advisory states.
POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia said the permit is necessary to help regulate mass gathering under the obtaining quarantine circumstances.
“Notwithstanding the peculiarity of the job fair which would be conducted in an online/virtual platform as opposed to the traditional conducts of the same in a specific physical venue, the requirement of securing the JFA would still be applicable,” the advisory added.
Olalia said POEA is currently developing a system for the conduct of online job fairs for submission to the DOLE, PESO and Licensed Recruitment Agencies prior issuance and implementation.
