Salceda appeals for assistance for Rolly devastated Albay 2nd district

LEGAZPI CITY — Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Sarte Salceda has aired an appeal for assistance for his district following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Rolly, which inflicted about P2.1 billion damage to critical infrastructures in the area.

Some 20,494 families composed of 66,328 persons are now housed in evacuation centers around the district, as follows: Camalig, 6,648 families or 22,296 persons; Manito — 1,647 families, 6,866 persons; Rapu-rapu — 2,052 families, 7,714 persons; Legazpi City – 6,439 families, 14,535 persons; Daraga — 3,708 families, 14,917 persons.

Salceda said a total of 286 houses were totally destroyed in his district, with 450 others critically, and 768 substantially. Albay’s second district has a population of 613,940.

“We are appealing to your generosity of spirit for assistance to sustain our constituents’ daily needs,” pleaded Salceda.
