The Philippines’ overall tally of recovered Covid-19 cases nationwide has now climbed to 398,658, following the addition of 44 new recoveries on Monday.
The Department of Health (DOH), in its Monday 4 p.m. case bulletin, said the figures represent a 92.4 percent recovery rate from Covid-19 among Filipinos.
The bulletin, however, also reported 1,773 new cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 24,580.
Of the active cases, about 83.5% were classified as mild, 7.5% as asymptomatic, 3% as severe, 0.31% as moderate, and 5.7% as critical. The country’s death toll also rose to 8,392 including the 19 new deaths recorded.
The DOH said “seven duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, four were recovered cases.” Six cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths, he added.
Rizal topped the list of areas where new Covid-19 cases were logged with 104 cases, followed by Cavite with 99, Negros Occidental with 88, Davao City with 79, and Laguna with 72 cases.
The DOH also said the country’s total bed capacity for Covid-19 patients remains 21,300, of which number 59% are intensive care unit beds, together with 64% of 13,500 isolation beds, and 71% of 5,900 ward beds. They are all available for patients’ use.
DOH added that 83% of 2,000 ventilators are available also for Covid-19 patients.
